Taxpayer Deception Act: Seeking to Destroy Our Budget

Just like the anti-tax extremists who created Prop. 13, the California Business Roundtable wants to shield corporations from having to pay their fair share with no regard for the impacts on our public schools and community programs. This measure is clearly motivated by the billionaire funders’ contempt for anyone asking them to pay their fair share. If you want to know who will benefit from an initiative, check out who funds it — this measure is not for everyday Californians.

Because of Prop. 13, California’s schools and communities have been fighting for scraps for the past 48 years. This measure will only make matters worse, and public schools, fire stations, emergency departments, public transit, and other vital community services will be forced to compete for a tiny amount of money without the ability to raise revenue. If you care about your community, vote NO on the Taxpayer Deception Act.
